And they were dunked…

“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12)

Yesterday was a special day for us involved in youth ministry at Surfside United Methodist Church . We got to see three of our friends officially become part of our church family. More importantly, they’ve become a part of God’s family. And that’s HUGE!

It actually got better than that, as two more o our friends reaffirmed their baptism, recommitting themselves to following Jesus. In short, they’ve decided to own their beliefs, and to do it in front of anyone who would stop to watch.

We just ended a series called ALLmost where we looked at how God doesn’t want ALLmost children, or ALLmost followers. He asks for ALL of our hearts, minds and strength. By doing what they did yesterday, our friends demonstrated their will to go “all in” in their faith journey. Nothing makes me happy. More importantly, nothing makes our God happier.

This is just the beginning. God is lifting our friends up to do great things for Him and to make a difference in their homes, our church, and the world!

I pray this is the beginning of something really great in our youth ministries!

Blessings,

Paulo

Baptism @ The Beach

I’m excited to announce that this Sunday we will NOT be having our regular youth meeting at church. Instead, we will meet at 12th Ave. South on the beach here in Surfside. We will still meet at 5pm

The reason for this is that 3 of our youth will be baptized. This means that they have not yet been baptized, and have made decisions to follow Jesus. There’s nothing more life changing than that!

We will spend time singing, hearing a message and cheering our “New Family Members” on as they’re baptized. After that we’ll hang out for a while and have some food and beverages.

During the baptism, those who wish to reaffirm their commitment to Jesus will have an opportunity to do so. If that’s something you’d like to do, come prepared to get wet. It’ll be a special time for our church and our youth ministry!

We hope to see you and your families there!

In His Love,

Paulo
